Privacy Policy

Your family's data stays your family's.

Effective date: July 15, 2026

FamilyOS helps your household keep tasks, events, lists, and reminders in one shared place. This policy explains — in plain language — what we collect, why, and the control you have over it.

01Information we collect

  • Account information. When you sign up we collect your email address and password. Passwords are stored in encrypted form by our authentication provider — we never see your actual password.
  • Family content you create. The names, photos, and roles of family members you add; tasks, events, upcoming items, grocery and other lists; comments; and any notes or details you enter. This content is shared with the members of your family in the app.
  • Content you submit to AI features. Text you paste, screenshots or files you upload, emails you forward to your family inbox, and messages you send to the in-app assistant.
  • Device & technical data. A push-notification token (only if you enable notifications), your language preference, and basic technical information needed to run the app.

We do not intentionally collect precise location, your phone contacts, health data, or payment-card details.

02How we use your information

  • Run FamilyOS and sync your family's data across everyone's devices.
  • Turn your notes, screenshots, and forwarded emails into tasks, events, and reminders using AI.
  • Send the push notifications and reminders you've asked for.
  • Keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
  • Contact you about the service when needed.

03AI processing

FamilyOS uses Anthropic's Claude AI to read the content you choose to process — pasted text, screenshots, forwarded emails, and assistant messages — and pull out tasks, dates, and who's responsible. That content, along with the family context needed to do the job (such as member names), is sent to Anthropic to generate a result and returned to you.

We don't train AI on your data. Requests are routed through our own secure server so our AI key is never exposed in the app, and your content is used to return results to you — not to train AI models.

04How your information is shared

With your family. Content you create is visible to the members of your family who share your account or join with your invite code.

With the service providers who run the app for us, only so they can provide their service:

SupabaseDatabase, sign-in, file storage & hosting
AnthropicAI processing of content you submit
ExpoPush notifications & app updates
CloudflareRouting emails you forward to your family inbox
AppleApp distribution & push delivery on Apple devices

For legal reasons, if required by law or to protect people's rights, safety, and security.

We do not sell your personal information, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.

05Email forwarding

If you forward an email to your family's inbox address (ending in @familyoshub.com), the contents of that email are received on your behalf, added to your Family Inbox, and processed as described above so you can turn it into tasks or events. Forward only emails you're comfortable bringing into your family hub.

06Keeping & deleting your information

We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account any time in Settings → Delete account. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile and personal data; if you're the last member of your family, your family's tasks, events, lists, and other content are deleted too. Deletion can't be undone, though routine backups may persist briefly before being overwritten.

07Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit, encrypted password storage, and access controls that keep each family's data scoped to that family. No system is ever perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your information and to address any issues promptly.

08Children's privacy

FamilyOS is built for adults — parents and guardians — to organize their household. It isn't directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. A parent or guardian who adds a child as a family member is responsible for the information they enter about that child. If you believe a child has given us information directly, contact us and we'll remove it.

09Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. You can edit most of your information directly in the app, delete your account in Settings, and turn off push notifications in your device settings.

We comply with applicable privacy laws, including Canada's PIPEDA and Quebec's Law 25, and we honor recognized privacy rights for users in other regions. To make a request, contact us using the details below.

10International data transfers

We and our service providers may process and store your information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.

11Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Effective date" above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
