Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 15, 2026
FamilyOS helps your household keep tasks, events, lists, and reminders in one shared place. This policy explains — in plain language — what we collect, why, and the control you have over it.
We do not intentionally collect precise location, your phone contacts, health data, or payment-card details.
FamilyOS uses Anthropic's Claude AI to read the content you choose to process — pasted text, screenshots, forwarded emails, and assistant messages — and pull out tasks, dates, and who's responsible. That content, along with the family context needed to do the job (such as member names), is sent to Anthropic to generate a result and returned to you.
We don't train AI on your data. Requests are routed through our own secure server so our AI key is never exposed in the app, and your content is used to return results to you — not to train AI models.
If you forward an email to your family's inbox address (ending in @familyoshub.com), the contents of that email are received on your behalf, added to your Family Inbox, and processed as described above so you can turn it into tasks or events. Forward only emails you're comfortable bringing into your family hub.
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account any time in Settings → Delete account. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile and personal data; if you're the last member of your family, your family's tasks, events, lists, and other content are deleted too. Deletion can't be undone, though routine backups may persist briefly before being overwritten.
We protect your data with encryption in transit, encrypted password storage, and access controls that keep each family's data scoped to that family. No system is ever perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your information and to address any issues promptly.
FamilyOS is built for adults — parents and guardians — to organize their household. It isn't directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. A parent or guardian who adds a child as a family member is responsible for the information they enter about that child. If you believe a child has given us information directly, contact us and we'll remove it.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. You can edit most of your information directly in the app, delete your account in Settings, and turn off push notifications in your device settings.
We comply with applicable privacy laws, including Canada's PIPEDA and Quebec's Law 25, and we honor recognized privacy rights for users in other regions. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
We and our service providers may process and store your information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Effective date" above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
Questions or requests about this policy or your data? We're happy to help.
